Visioneer, I use to go through the same with my P2V until I learned on my own that I had not been calibrating the the compass correctly. I was also calibrating just about every time I flew. When doing the wrong method, the copter would start out somewhat ok, but 8-10 minutes into flying it would start yaw sliding in one direction, and near the ground it would wonder a lot. After changing my process I have only calibrated the compass one time which was after the last firmware update. I would guess to have been around 17 flights straight with no calibrate compass before update.

You would be surprised how much better you feel when things are working as they should on your copter.

Post update was my first compass dance in quite a while. Once school's out today I plan to visit their ball field on the chance that the new version is more sensitive to the rebar in my driveway (it's never been a problem before) ... and just to see if it repeats its odd fly out & back there. What grassy areas I have "home" access to are either sloped or close to concrete.

    Update:
Went back to Ver 2.0, no improvement.
Went back to Ver. 1.08, no improvement

So whatever's gone amiss, update to Ver. 3.2 was likely just coincidental. It was too windy (and they were cutting grass) at the ball field to get any meaningful video.

Must be something to do with my makeup ... I'm not so much pissed at DJI as I am determined to sort this out. Decent temperatures here now but spring winds (and chores) are interfering with my investigation. I had it out very briefly the other night, hovering at about eye level maybe 8 feet away from me and, though not touching the sticks, I saw it tilt back and start moving backward. I was looking at it from the side so the tilt was very obvious. I gave it forward stick and pulled it back, then landed it. I was somewhat shocked because I knew it hadn't been blown, I was looking right at it and it clearly tilted ... actually moving against the prevailing, albeit light, prevailing wind. Either something went haywire or it way over corrected for the slight wind.

I believe I'll take a peek inside at the wiring and then double check the gains ... I haven't messed with them but I didn't really note if my version changes had tweaked them.
